"The Awakening" by Max Christensen

In this painting we see the opening of man’s dormant potential within himself, here he steps into the world of the unseen light, where form becomes light, and light arises as form.

This is a reflection of the serpent energy arising and opening up the sky eye, within the head of man. Here we also find his connection with things found within nature.

If you look closely you will see the outline of a bee’s head behind the standing man. This is the man discovering his connection with “oneness” of all things.

"The Vision" by Max Christensen

This painting is an inner reflection of the journey of the shaman in a trance. This shaman spirit travels into the unseen worlds, seeing reflections of life, death, hidden realities within the mind, and the knowledge within these worlds.

During Max's soul journey, he shares his different reflections of thought, the image of the shaman’s tree, and the serpent energy arising within the shaman.

"Serpents Wisdom" by Max Christensen

This is one of my earlier paintings in which the great cosmic serpent first awakened within me at an early age. The colors are vibrant, yet simple, with the meaning of the first awakening, from the tree of wisdom from within ones-self.

"The Journey" by Max Christensen

This painting is a reflection of the inner eye looking upwards to the top of the skull. The light represents the central channel opening and the inner light of the great mystery shinning forth towards the wisdom eye. The outer lights are the movement of spirit towards the light, inwardly, it is the spirit of the mind descending towards the heart through the katika channel, the channel of clarity.

"The Touch" by Max Christensen

This earlier painting is a reflection of man’s struggle to penetrate the unseen world, the barrier between the world of matter, and the world of spirit. Here is a painting of a man who has partaking in a sacrament that allows him to step into the world of spirit; he presses himself, his mind, in order to break the barriers that lead to his spiritual freedom.
